The Sisters Helping Sisters Initiative (S.H.S.I.)

We See You | We Hear You | We Stand With You

This is a COVID-19 initiative to support Transgender, Gender Nonconforming and

Non-binary Sisters in the County of Queens, and the surrounding Metroploitan Area.

The Sisters Helping Sisters Initiative (S.H.S.I.) seeks to bring some immediate change around food inequality for Transgender, Gender Nonconforming, and Non-binary sisters in the County of Queens, and the surrounding Metropolitan Area. We will do this by packing boxes of 30 to 40 pounds of fresh produce, other groceries items, hygiene products, and PPE weekly and delivering to consumers who apply for S.H.S.I.

In addition, we will also provide free case management, counseling services, workforce development services, housing assistance, educational services, and referral services to all consumers.

“The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has the world to a grinding halt. Many businessess are closed or closling, resulting in thousands of workers being left jobless. A large majority of our sisters are in these circumstances, living paycheck to paycheck and for a number of reasons, majority do not qualift for unemployment benefits or other government aid. THEY ARE CURRENTLY LEFT STRANDED. OUR SISTERS ARE IN NEED OF HELP NOW!”
